Frequently Asked  Questions

How much does counselling cost?

The initial assessment (which lasts an hour) costs £45.  Ongoing sessions are charged at £35 per session and are 50 minutes long.  Sessions are paid for by cheque at the end of the month, or by cash on a weekly basis.

How quickly can I be seen?

Christine will respond to your call within 24 – 48 hours.  It is usually possible to be seen within a week – especially if you can come for an assessment within normal office hours.

Who can be seen?

Christine works with individuals of any race, creed or gender from the age of 18 onwards.

Do I need a GP referral?

No, although many clients do come for counselling on the suggestion of their GP, a referral is not necessary.

How often do I need to see the counsellor?

Counselling happens once a week for 50 minutes, at the same time and in the same place.  Once you are offered an appointment that ‘time’ becomes yours until both you and the counsellor plan an ending together.

Is it confidential?

The service provided is entirely confidential.  The room used is discreet, and there is no sign outside the door to indicate that counselling takes place on the premises.

Will I always see the same counsellor?

Yes.  The relationship you build with your counsellor is very important.
